Data Connectors

What Are Data Connectors?

Data Connectors eliminate the friction of moving data between systems. Instead of downloading from databases, uploading to CamberCloud, and repeating this cycle—you establish direct connections that flow data seamlessly into your workflows.

Examples:

  • 🗄️ Snowflake: Query millions of rows directly from your data warehouse
  • 📁 Google Drive: Analyze spreadsheets and documents without downloading
  • ☁️ Amazon S3: Access petabyte-scale storage as if it were local
  • 📊 SharePoint: Pull enterprise data into computational pipelines

Prerequisites: Active CamberCloud account with platform access. Authentication credentials for the external services you want to connect.

💡 Why Use Connectors?

  • Eliminate manual transfers: No more downloading and re-uploading data between systems
  • Live data access: Query databases and storage in real-time without copying
  • Secure credentials: Store API keys and tokens encrypted in the platform
  • Reusable connections: Configure once, use across Nova, Apps, and Agents
  • Enterprise integration: Connect to institutional data warehouses and storage

How to Set Up Connectors

Step 1: Browse the Connector Directory

Data Connectors Directory In the CamberCloud Connectors section, browse all services at a glance: each card shows the service icon, name, short capability summary, category (Integration, Database, Storage), and whether it’s already connected or ready to configure.

Step 2: Configure Authentication

Snowflake Connector Configuration When you open a connector, CamberCloud shows a tailored configuration dialog with the right authentication method, required credentials (like username, access token, and account ID), and optional settings such as default database or warehouse. From the same panel, you can open service-specific docs, then add and test the connection.

🔐 Credential Security & Management

How CamberCloud protects your data:

  • Encrypted at rest: All credentials encrypted using industry-standard encryption
  • Encrypted in transit: TLS/SSL for all data transfers
  • No exposure in logs: Credentials never appear in job logs or error messages
  • Scoped permissions: Control which team members can use specific connectors
  • Audit trails: Track all connector access and usage

Managing credentials:

  • Update tokens and passwords without reconfiguring workflows
  • Rotate credentials on your institution’s schedule
  • Delete connectors to immediately revoke access
  • Test connections after updates to verify functionality

Using Connectors in Your Workflows

Once configured, connectors become available across the CamberCloud platform. You can reference them in multiple contexts:

With Nova AI Assistant

Ask Nova to query or analyze connected data sources:

  • “Query my Snowflake warehouse for all experiments from last month”
  • “Analyze the spreadsheet in my Google Drive folder called ‘Results’”
  • “Pull the latest data from my S3 bucket and visualize trends”

Nova will automatically use your configured connectors to access data without additional authentication.

With AI Agents

Agents can orchestrate complex workflows using multiple connectors:

  • Monitor connected data sources for new files or records
  • Execute multi-step pipelines across different systems
  • Automatically sync results back to institutional storage

Example: Snowflake to Analysis Workflow

Scenario: Analyze monthly sales data stored in Snowflake and generate visualizations

  1. Ask Nova: “Query my Snowflake data warehouse for Q4 sales by region”
  2. Nova uses the Snowflake connector to execute SQL queries
  3. Results are staged to Stash for processing
  4. Launch a Python visualization app to create charts
  5. Artifacts are automatically saved in your chats folder

No manual data downloads or uploads required.

Quick Start

  1. Access the Connectors page from the platform navigation
  2. Select a connector that matches your data source
  3. Follow the authentication flow with your service credentials
  4. Test the connection and start using it with Nova or Apps
